4 Open-World Games: Our Highlights

Open-world games may not have been among the first computer games to become available to players. Still, they are one of the most essential parts of the gaming industry today. Of course, these titles are now available on PC, game consoles, and mobile devices.

The ability to explore new areas in no particular order, play side missions, and achieve steady progression make this title attractive.

Today’s players can enjoy dozens of open-world games. Of course, they are not equal, and the best among them are on our list below.

GTA V

GTA V is a title that sounds familiar even to those who have never played video games. Grand Theft Auto V is an exciting game for several reasons. First of all, this open-world title has an impressive setting. The fictional city of Los Santos is based in Los Angeles. The similarities are seen in many places while playing.

The game brings many exciting details and encounters with non-playable characters that enrich the experience.

Like many other open-world games, GTA V offers a variety of side missions and mini-games. For example, you can visit The Diamond Casino & Resort anytime, where you can discover games like blackjack, slots, roulette, and poker. The experience you will gain here can help you when you play real money casino games – of course, this is possible thanks to the realistic details that this title brings to the gameplay.

The release of GTA Online, an online multiplayer version of GTA V, increased the popularity of this game. In a way, GTA V has become a social platform where players interact with each other, share experiences, and simply enjoy the game.

Red Dead Redemption 2

It may have taken over 8 years for players to get a sequel, but Red Dead Redemption 2 proved to be a game worth the wait. This title from Rockstar Games has become one that finds itself on almost all lists of the best games, not just open-world titles.

The game is best known for its story, in which Arthur Morgan, an outlaw who tries to survive the harsh Wild West with his gang, plays the leading role. The designers and developers of RDR2 have won numerous accolades for the depth of the characters and the unique stories that are part of the game.

Of course, in the year this game was released, it became one of the best in terms of graphics and audio effects. For months, fans have been talking about the smallest details covered in Red Dead Redemption 2, such as the different footprints in the snow left by the characters.

In addition to the simple walks that allow you to explore the vast world, you can participate in battles, cook, hunt, and manage a camp here. According to many, this slows the game down a bit. Still, according to others, this is precisely what makes it memorable.

While on RDR2, remember that this game also has an online mode. Although it has not become trendy among players, the ability to play with or against other players online is worth praising.

Watch Dogs 2

Unlike movies, where sequels are usually disappointing, video game sequels are generally better. Such is the case with Watch Dogs 2. Its predecessor is excellent, too, but Watch Dogs 2 is more refined and fun.

First, the mechanics have been improved. For example, hacking is more user-friendly and works more naturally than before. Once again, we have a title with a great story, this time following Marcus Holloway. The story takes place in a fictional part of San Francisco. It is also good that you will often come across funny dialogues and satire that reflect the weaknesses of today’s society.

In terms of gameplay, there’s multiplayer integration that we haven’t seen in any other title before. Namely, with the help of this feature, players can enter other users’ games and change some parts in their favor.

These are just some reasons why Watch Dogs 2 is one of the best open-world games ever and why you should try it as soon as possible.

Assassins’ Creed Mirage

For many, this choice is controversial as hundreds of players claim that titles from the Assassin’s Creed series, such as Origins, are better than Mirage. However, we decided to put this title on the list because it is among the last in the series and because of its unique features.

One of the better things here is that the game has returned to basics. The main point is placed on stealth activities and doing parkour moves. RPG elements are present but are far from dominant.

With this title, you can visit Baghdad for the first time during the flourishing of Islamic civilization. The main character (Basim Ibn Ishaq) leaves a positive impression; the same can be said for the secondary characters.

What was interesting at the time Assassin’s Creed Mirage came out was the lower-than-expected price, which was undoubtedly welcomed by the gaming community.
