As the settlement developed further, Londinium became a key centre for business; goods from across the Roman Empire passed through the city, and it attracted merchants, soldiers, and officials. The Romans built roads connecting Londinium to other parts of Britain, which made travel and trade much easier. Despite its growth, Londinium faced challenges. It was destroyed during the rebellion led by Boudica around AD 60, but it was later rebuilt and continued to thrive. By the second century, it had become one of the largest settlements in Roman Britain.
Today, parts of Londinium can still be seen in London, including sections of the Roman wall and various archaeological remains that offer a glimpse into its past.

There are obviously a lot of different time zones across the world, in some countries there are even multiple time zones within the same border.
In 1884, countries met at the International Meridian Conference and agreed to use the Prime Meridian running through Royal Observatory Greenwich as the starting point for longitude and global timekeeping. This is what gave Greenwich its global importance.
Before that, places used local solar time, which caused confusion, especially with trains and communication between cities. Once Greenwich was accepted as “zero,” the world could be divided into time zones based on hours ahead or behind it.
